After a busy couple of weeks where I’ve had no chance to do any iPhone programming I’ve managed to finish the update tonight
There’s been a lot of changes to the back ground code and the user interface but here’s a few of the more visible new features…
Customization: The background colours of the friends list are now user configurable:

Compare: You can now quickly visualize which of your friends are playing a game and how far through the trophies each of you are:

Compare: You can now get an overview of what games friends are playing that you don’t own, just like on your PS3:

Compare: You can do a full, detailed compare of the trophies you’ve gained on each game against any of your friends:

I’m planning to submit it to Apple tomorrow afternoon when I’ve had chance to do a final bit of testing
Thanks for all your patience, hopefully you won’t have too much longer to wait!
I’ve been working on it for a few months now and I’ve been putting a HUGE amount of time in to it since just before Christmas (when I finished work!). I’m not quite ready to put any pictures up yet but in about a week you should see something here
Hi guys, I’m back from my honeymoon and have started looking at all your emails!
Everyone that had queries should get a reply soon, thanks for your patience!
Just a quick note to let you know I won’t be able to provide support for my apps for a couple of weeks as I’m off to get married!
If you do have any issues I’m very sorry, leave me an email and i’ll get back to you as soon as I get back (around 17th October).
Cheers guys!
The PSN is down for several hours, during this time myPSN will report an error. It will be up and running again later tonight/early tomorrow.
UPDATE: All backup and running fine
myPSN version 2.1 has been approved by Apple and should be available on the app store in a couple of hours.
I’m not sure why myKILLZONE hasn’t been approved (despite being submitted first!) but hopefully it won’t be long behind…
Let me know what you think of the update guys!
Some people are having trouble signing in to myPSN for the first time, hopefully this short set of instructions will fix it for you. If you’ve done this and are still having problems please feel free to contact me, either through the form at the bottom of this page or through the comments.
1. Go to http://uk.playstation.com in your browser and sign in with your PSN details, please note that it must be this URL and it doesn’t matter if your account is from a different region – it will still work.
2. You will probably be presented with a screen that looks like this…

…and your instinct will be to try and put your email address and password in the box but there is no need to unless you have an extremely old EU Playstation forum account (it may even predate the PSN!). All you need to do is look at the next section down, titled “No, I will fill out the information myself” which is incredibly misleading – there’s no information to fill out! Just click submit in this section.
3. You’re done! Load up myPSN on your iPhone and it should work, if not then send an email my way
Just a small update this time
Changes:
- Fixed memory leak – this will hopefully give those of you with an utterly ridiculous number of contacts a better experience with the app
- Fixed trophy totals in the compare overview – if you look at the page for a friends trophies you might sometimes find that your total number of trophies for that game hasn’t updated.
- Added trophy detail screen – some trophies have quite a large description that may not fit in the normal trophy view, this page will let you see all the gory details as well as providing a handy new button…

myPSN 2.0 is still in the approvals process but I thought you might like a quick look at some of the new features that are coming…
Fixed bug stopping countries other than UK/US accessing the app
This one’s fairly self explanatory
Added caching of data
What this means is that there’s no more waiting for a login screen or a grey loading screen before you can start using the app. So as soon as you start it up you can start browsing through all the info!

Added users progress towards next level
You will now get a progress bar showing how far you have to go to the next level as shown below.

Added users trophy details
You can now view your trophies for each of your games and see which ones you have left to collect.

…overview and in detail…

Added friends progress towards next level
There will also be a similar progress bar showing how far your friends have to go to their next level.

Added comparison with friends trophies
You will get an overview of how many trophies your friends have in each of the games you both own. A more detailed comparison will be coming in future

Last night I submitted an update to Apple that I hope will fix the issues plaguing a few EU users. Being a x.0 release it includes a fair bit more than just a fix however, I will reveal more details in the coming days…
